The new water sports season is expected to start from April 19, 2022.
The basic prerequisite for rental is a corresponding rental authorization in the respective sport. These can be obtained in part through different course offerings. The courses teach theoretical & practical basics as well as the experienced & careful handling of the water sports equipment. Furthermore, they include the basic boathouse rules as well as nature conservation regulations.
Those who have obtained a rental authorization are then allowed to rent the boating equipment. A regular refresher course is not mandatory, but in case of a longer water sports break or uncertainty it is advisable to attend a refresher course or an introductory course.
In addition, further licenses can be acquired, e.g. VDWS licenses (Association of German Water Sports Schools) or the official sport boat license (SBF) Binnen/ See.
The rental rules for canoes, sailboats, rowing boats, windsurfing and stand-up paddling must be observed!
