University Sports is part of Fundament Gesundheit (FUndament Gesundheit), the program for workplace health promotion at Freie Universität Berlin.
In the framework of an internal provision of Freie Universität Berlin ZEH offer widespread health promotion courses. The diverse health sport offer comprises measures for health promotion as well as prevention and is guided by recommendations and quality criteria of Deutscher Olympischer Sportbund (DOSB).
Fundament Gesundheit (Health FUndament)
FUndament Gesundheit (Health Fundament) is the workplace health promotion management of Freie Universität Berlin. Purpose of same is to create best possible working conditions for health promotion and to accomplish measures to improve the working climate and motivation of FU employees.
All offers for FU employees also include University Sports offers.
Reimbursement of course fees
All health promotion courses are fee-based. However, legal provisions allow a partial funding for FU employees via health insurance companies or employer. If the respective health insurance company will not or only partially refund course fees despite a proven regular attendance, Freie Universität Berlin might absorb the costs fully or partially for up to two courses per year upon application. For the following courses there is a chance to have course fees refunded by your health insurance company on condition that the course has been attended regularly:
- Gymnastic 40+
- Fit for the evening
- Running, walking, nordic walking
- Fitness training
- Fitness-combi workout
- Body shape
- Back therapy training / spinal exercises
- Qi Gong
- Autogenic training
Upon request, ZEH will issue a confirmation on the regular attendance of the respective course. Basis for the issuance of a certificate of attendance is the valid registration and the attendance list kept by the course instructor (participation in at least 80% of the course lessons). Prior to the beginning of the course, the course instructor must be informed about the issuance of a certificate of attendance.
Participants have to inquire about the respective regulations and terms for reimbursement at their own insurance companies. ZEH cannot warrant the cost absorption by health insurance companies for health promotion courses.
